PART-TIME MATH TEACHER

Doane Academy, an independent day school for grades pre-K-12 located in Burlington, NJ, seeks a mathematics teacher to teach two sections of middle school math during the 2026-27 school year. This individual will have the opportunity to bring our school mission to life while instilling critical mathematical reasoning skills in our Middle School students.

Qualifying Education and Experience
Required

  • Undergraduate concentration in mathematics or mathematical instruction
  • 3+ years experience teaching middle school math courses
  • Enthusiasm for inspiring students to think quantitatively and deductively

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in mathematics or mathematical instruction
  • Professional experience in an Independent school

Knowledge, Skills, and Dispositions

  • An understanding of how students learn
  • Genuine interest in, and enthusiasm for, working with adolescent learners
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, cultural responsiveness, and to Doane’s DEI aims

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teachers to join our team in NJ on a part or full-time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports.  Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.
Position entails a 20 or 40-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 1 PM or 9:00am-4:30pm.
