PART-TIME MATH TEACHER
Doane Academy, an independent day school for grades pre-K-12 located in Burlington, NJ, seeks a mathematics teacher to teach two sections of middle school math during the 2026-27 school year. This individual will have the opportunity to bring our school mission to life while instilling critical mathematical reasoning skills in our Middle School students.
Qualifying Education and Experience
Required
- Undergraduate concentration in mathematics or mathematical instruction
- 3+ years experience teaching middle school math courses
- Enthusiasm for inspiring students to think quantitatively and deductively
Preferred
- Master’s degree in mathematics or mathematical instruction
- Professional experience in an Independent school
Knowledge, Skills, and Dispositions
- An understanding of how students learn
- Genuine interest in, and enthusiasm for, working with adolescent learners
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, cultural responsiveness, and to Doane’s DEI aims
- Willingness to work with students from a variety of backgrounds and with varied abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Well-developed and effective organization and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for joining an entrepreneurial, collegial, enthusiastic, innovative, and fun group of teaching professionals.
