    The Association of Mathematics Teachers of New Jersey was organized on May 23, 1914 led by Harrison E. Webb from Central High School in Newark. Approximately 50 mathematics educators, men and women, representing public high schools and elementary schools, private schools, teachers' colleges and other colleges within New Jersey were present at the organizational meeting.
